A must-have dish during the winter season, tartiflette is one of the favorite dishes of all lovers of melted cheese. This hearty dish is made with potatoes, onions, bacon, and Reblochon cheese from Savoie. It pairs perfectly with one of the Alsace wines from our region!

For true Alsatians (but also for everyone else), the cheese can easily be replaced by a good Munster from the valley. The tartiflette then becomes a "munstiflette," which is just as delicious and indulgent!

But what wine should you pair with a tartiflette or a munstiflette? We give you our selection of wines in this article.

What white wines go well with tartiflette?

The richness and indulgence of this dish call for a lively white wine with good acidity. To counter the heaviness of the cheese and awaken your taste buds, serve a white wine with great freshness and lightness.

Fresh, fruity, with a beautiful structure while retaining great freshness and minerality, a light Riesling or Sylvaner from Alsace will pair perfectly with tartiflette to bring out its aromas and dazzle your guests!

Tartiflette is often made according to the traditional Savoyard recipe, which includes a glass of white wine. You can choose a different wine to serve with your tartiflette, as long as it is an Alsace wine! Go for a Riesling or a Sylvaner from Les Chasseurs de Lune, or try our "Blanc Bec" cuvée (a dry white wine that's a subtle blend of three Alsatian grape varieties: Sylvaner, Riesling, and Pinot Gris) to bring out all the flavors of your tartiflette.

What is the perfect pairing for red wine and tartiflette?

While cheese-based dishes generally pair better with dry white wines (the most obvious food and wine pairing), tartiflette can also be paired with red wines. The presence of bacon helps to make this pairing work. In this case, choose a fresh, light red wine without too much tannin. A light red wine, Alsatian Pinot Noir is therefore ideal! Made from this grape variety, ourPinot Noir des Chasseurs de Lune from the , will be the perfect accompaniment to your tartiflette this winter!
