The Moon Hunters: history and spirit of Bestheim

The Moon Chasers, or "Mondfangers" in Alsatian, are the winegrowers of Bennwihr, the historic birthplace of Bestheim. After the destruction of the Second World War, these men and women showed remarkable boldness and solidarity by rebuilding their village together and founding a wine cooperative. Their ambition? To reach for the moon, to strive for excellence, and to produce authentic Alsace wines and Crémants that are steeped in their history.

Today, the spirit of the Chasseurs de Lune lives on at Bestheim. Our 300 families of cooperative members share the values of determination, solidarity and originality. Each bottle reflects this constant quest for excellence and this desire to offer sincere wines, true to their terroirs, while innovating for the future.
