Grand Cru Wines

The 51 Grands Crus of Alsace

Today there are 51 terroirs delimited according to very strict geological and climatic criteria. Alsace is very rich in soils and from one hill to another the very nature of the geological components can vary. It is these specificities of the region's land that make up the mosaic of Alsace's Grands Crus. The wines made from it represent about 5% of Alsatian wine production.

Exceptional terroirs shaped by time

Each Grand Cru has a unique signature. The Schlossberg, Alsace's leading Grand Cru, reveals a chiseled minerality thanks to its granite base. The sun-drenched Mambourg produces opulent, floral wines. Zinnkoepflé, the highest wine-growing peak in Alsace, expresses itself through its aromatic power and spicy accents. Kaefferkopf, a rare blend of grape varieties, seduces with its elegance and richness.

grands-crus-impatient

L'Impatient: Bestheim's first Pinot Noir Grand Cru

We named it "L'Impatient" because we had been waiting a long time to be able to raise it to the rank it deserves. From the prestigious Vorbourg terroir, this confidential Pinot Noir embodies patience, precision and keeping promises. Since the 2024 vintage, the Grand Cru Vorbourg appellation has been recognized for Pinot Noir: official recognition for an already exceptional wine.

A long aging process for wines with a strong personality

Our Grands Crus are vinified with exacting standards and aged for a long time on fine lees or in oak barrels, depending on the cuvée. Each wine is then patiently refined before being put on the market, to offer a tasting experience that lives up to these majestic terroirs. These are wines for laying down, gastronomic wines, designed to leave a lasting impression.
