When is Crémant punch ideal?
Parties, large aperitifs, garden parties, brunches with friends: Crémant punch is a must when you want to share something sparkling and refreshing. Presented in a large bowl, it puts an Alsace cuvée at the center of the table and is easy to serve for a convivial atmosphere from start to finish. Check out our guide to find out when to serve your Crémant d'Alsace.
What alcohol content for an Alsatian Crémant punch?
With a Crémant d'Alsace at ~12% ABV and amber rum, you get a sparkling wine blended at around 7-9% ABV, depending on the amount of juice and sugar added. The more juice and ice you add, the lower the alcohol content: a smooth balance for an aperitif. Conversely, the more amber rum you add, the higher the alcohol content: the profile gains in character and warmth, at the expense of a little freshness.
Which Crémant should you choose for a sparkling and fruity Alsatian punch?
Opt for a Brut cuvée with fine bubbles and a distinct freshness (such as Crémant Brut Premium): it supports the citrus fruits without weighing them down. Avoid overly pronounced dosages in order to maintain a fruity, straightforward, and truly sparkling profile when tasting.
Ice or no ice?
Ice, yes, but in large cubes to limit dilution. Chill the base (juice + spirits) beforehand and serve the Crémant "chilled" just before serving: the Crémant punch will remain lively and precise, with a lasting foam.
What snacks go well with a Crémant punch as an aperitif?
Gougères, cheese puffs, fish rillettes, fried shrimp, tomato and basil tartlets: crunchy, salty, and fresh. The idea is to let the cuvée shine, savoring its sparkle without excess sugar, in glasses that respect its fruity nose.
