Grand Cru Kaefferkopf: an exceptional terroir in Alsace
Kaefferkopf: a historic region in the heart of Alsace
Stretching over 71.65 hectares at an altitude of between 230 and 350 meters, the Grand Cru Kaefferkopf is located on the outskirts of the communeof Ammerschwihr. This terroir, known for the diversity of its geology, is renowned for producing rare, rich and complex blended wines.
Granite and limestone soil for exceptional wines
The Kaefferkopf is based on a soil composed of granite and limestone, enriched with fine elements such as clay and silt. This composition gives the wines a remarkable structure and complexity, with a mineral expression that takes precedence over the varietal character.
The art of assembly in the service of complexity
Mainly planted with Gewurztraminer, the Kaefferkopf Grand Cru also has some Riesling and Pinot Gris. These noble grape varieties, often blended, produce powerful, full-bodied and complex wines, with a distinguished bouquet and an elegant palate.
