Published on 09.23.2020

At Bestheim, grapes used to make Crémants or those grown on Grand Cru plots are harvested entirely by hand. The bunches are picked and sorted, then transported to the press. This meticulous work is carried out by the grape pickers, who each year bring their cheerfulness and good humor to bear on the quality of our production. But why, in Alsace, are the bunches of grapes transported in yellow botiches?

We explore this topic in this episodeof EXTRA BRUT, oureducational web series about wine, with food and wine critic Nicolas Rieffel. The goal: to answer in record time all the questions you've ever asked yourself about wine...

Answers provided by the "Chasseurs de Lune" (Moon Hunters), members and employees of the Bestheim winery.
