Bestheim Celebrates Its 80th Anniversary: A Look Back at a Collective History Unique to Alsace
Bestheim Celebrates Its 80th Anniversary: Eight Decades of History, Passion, and Boldness
On July 4, Bestheim celebrated a special anniversary: 80 years of history in the heart of the Alsatian wine region. In Bennwihr, more than a thousand people—cooperative winemakers, employees, elected officials, and friends of the cooperative—gathered to pay tribute to those who have built the Bestheim story since 1946.
This anniversary celebration was an opportunity not only to look back on the journey so far but also to reaffirm the vision that continues to inspire the Chasseurs de Lune: moving forward together to showcase the wines and crémants of Alsace.
An immersive evening celebrating 80 years of history
Designed as a true tribute to the generations of women and men who have shaped the cooperative, the evening featured several highlights.
Guests were treated to an immersive sound-and-light show in the heart of the winery, retracing the major milestones in Bestheim’s history. The evening continued with a monumental light show projected onto the winery’s buildings, offering a visual journey through 80 years of collective commitment, challenges overcome, and shared successes.
An anniversary film to preserve the legacy of the Chasseurs de Lune
Among the highlights of the celebration, guests were treated to a sneak preview of the film produced to mark Bestheim’s 80th anniversary.
Through the testimonies of several generations of cooperative winemakers, this film tells a story that goes far beyond the history of a single company. It highlights the deep connection to the land, the passing down of expertise, the strength of the collective, and the cooperative’s ability to look toward the future.
Personal stories, family memories, and the diverse perspectives of those who keep Bestheim alive today come together to create a deeply human narrative. It is a story of a living legacy that continues to unfold across generations.
