The structured expression of the Kaefferkopf

The Grand Cru Kaefferkopf extends over 71.65 hectares, between 230 and 350 meters above sea level, in the commune of Ammerschwihr. This multifaceted terroir is distinguished by the diversity of its geology and itsblended wines, a rare specificity in Alsace. It gives rise to rich, nuanced and complex white wines.

The heavy, deep soils are composedof clay and silt, fine elements that bring structure and depth. They also reinforce the perception of minerality, allowing the terroir to fully express itself, beyond the varietal characteristics of the grape varieties.

A Grand Cru with a complex personality

Mainly planted with Gewurztraminer, the Grand Cru Kaefferkopf also hosts two other noble grape varieties from Alsace: Riesling and Pinot Gris. This unique terroir allows the creation of wines made from each of these grape varieties, but also a harmonious blend of the three, a rare signature among Alsatian Grands Crus.

Käfferkopf wines are renowned for their power, structure and complexity. Whatever the grape variety used or the proportions of the blend, the terroir always asserts its personality: expressive, elegant aromas and a balanced palate, marked by a beautiful length.
