L'Impatient... A historic red

This wine is the fruit of an exceptional terroir and a rigorous selection process, with low yields (45hl/ha) and grapes which are meticulously hand-picked plot-by-plot. It is made with the fruit of a small vineyard (less than a hectare), whose vines have an average age of 43.

It owes its name to the long (and ongoing) wait for the technical specifications of the Hauteurs de Rouffach appellation, the noble terroir from which this wine springs, to be updated to include red wines. 

Located in the southern reaches of the Alsace winemaking region, protected from the elements by the two peaks known as Petit Ballon and Grand Ballon, this terroir was historically renowned for the quality of its red wines. Its clay-limestone soils and south-south-east positioning provide perfect conditions for the Pinot Noir grapes to ripen, producing wines which are rich and powerful but always elegant and refined.
