Getting to know the Klevener de Heiligenstein

A genuine rarity! This grape variety, also known as "Vieux Traminer," has been present in Alsace for centuries, but over the years it gradually lost ground to a more aromatic, spicy rival... Gewurztraminer! Today, the winemakers of Heiligenstein (and a few surrounding villages) continue to produce this rare, distinctive wine. Klevener's elegance, power and aromatic subtlety justify its standing as one of Alsace's noble grape varieties alongside Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer.

Tasting notes

A splendid golden colour. This is a classic Klevener, with great aromatic complexity and a hint of spice. Rich and full-bodied on the palate, with ample structure and an indulgent splash of honey; Bold, heady and incredibly long.

Food-wine pairings

Klevener de Heiligenstein is a distinctive, voluptuous wine ideal with fish in creamy sauce, terrines and foie gras. It is also just as charming as an aperitif as it is with dessert.

And what if... Succumb to the temptation of an unexpected encounter...
