Finely-structured character

The deep and heavy soil of this terroir is blessed with finer elements such as clay and silt. They provide the wines with structure and complexity. They also contribute to our perception of minerality in the wines, an expression of the terroir that takes precedence here over varietal character.

A blend of noble grape varieties

Primarily planted with Gewurztraminer, the estate also has plots of Riesling and Pinot Gris. Grand Cru Kaefferkopf is often a blend of all three of these noble varieties.

A complex character

The wines of Kaefferkopf are powerful, full-bodied and complex. Regardless of the final blend, Grand Cru Kaefferkopf has an unmistakeable personality: a distinguished, expressive bouquet and a well-balanced, elegant sensation on the palate.
